The little sister island located in the North East of the main island of Madeira: Porto Santo. It is the only island that is inhabited with Madeira, whose main town is Vila Baleira. It is about 42 km² in size. It has sandy beaches (it's called the Golden Island!), which are sorely lacking in Madeira, as well as the Pico do Facho in the centre of the island. This island can be reached by ferry or by plane, ideal for a day trip during your trip. Several small islets surround Porto Santo.
Located 11 km southeast of the main island of Madeira: Chão, Deserta Grande and Bugio are 3 deserted islands of the archipelago. These islands were not colonisable: the arid climate, the cliffs and the difficulty of access make them uninhabitable for man. They have been designated as nature reserves since 1990, they were private in the past and belonged to 2 English families. They can be seen from Funchal, with Deserta Grande being the highest point at 442m. The islands are protected by the Madeira Natural Park and are home to several protected species, including monk seals, of which there are about 30 individuals living in the caves of these islands.

The Madeira Archipelago is located in the Atlantic Ocean in the African plate, 978 km south of Portugal, approximately 33 degrees north latitude, and about 700 km west of the African coast. Almost the same latitude as Casablanca and is 450 km north of the Canary Islands, and has a total area of 796 km2.
Because of its volcanic origin, its landscape is very rugged and never becomes monotonous, standing out with high mountains and deep valleys, where different shades of green are abundant.

looks ...very "green" ?
That is the exact colour of the water taken from the satellite images with no editing required as I did not want to replace it with the default water colour from the flight sim. 73

Hi 🍎🚁,
unluckily FS2 orthos are only partially compatible.
Due to a wrong prioritisation, the new orthos gets visibly VERY late und you will see the regular IPACS tiles until then.
Please see here for details:
ThreadImage Priorization Bug - still present
When using ORBX or user orthos, there is a wrong priorisation.
The IPACS orthos of lower layers stay active, though that layer is also present in the ORBX folder as level13 -9.
Here is an example of orbx-nl Rotterdam. Please compare the water colors.
Observed in version 4.0.5.1 and before.

Thanks Michael for your very clear explanation, this will help others with fs4 to use my scenery readily available on flight-sim.org
Kindest regards, Michael.

Great - and the image files can also be used for FS4.
I'm not sure about this as I do not have FS4, I was under the impression that the FS4 scenery took priority over any user made scenery? Cheers Michael.

These pictures look really good.
What is the resolution?
Hi Thomas, I made them at 2 m resolution but in practice they are so good quality they look more like 1 m flying over them!
Kindest regards, Michael.
