Is the state of the aircraft saved ?

I am referring to the CRJ in particular. In order to fly a VOR course, I need to set the heading to intercept the course, and once the course is intercepted ( the needle comes alive) the autopilot will turn to the course.
But IIRC using the Boeing autopilot the aircraft would automatically turn to intercept the course.
Is this a limitation of the CRJ autopilot or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for all the replies. I’ve managed to intercept the ILS once . My follow up question is, if I use the NAV mode on the autopilot, ILS source and the runway heading as course, what other restrictions are there or what other actions are needed for the autopilot to successfully put me on the localizer so I can switch to the APPR mode. Like, do I need to be within a certain distance, certain maximum bearing from the runway? The autopilot cannot use the localizer like a VOR since the beam only covers a narrow band , right? And yet I do get DME information .

The runway course.
So it needs that even for ILS source?

I don’t have a button on screen or controller to get there in the first place
Drag the orange bar (left right) and press the pause button in the middle like on YouTube?

What the title says …

Try low visibility instead of any clouds. Avoid complex planes and complex airports and sunset/dawn all together.
I’m doing that. I am using the sim mostly for helicopters and get 40FPS on the R22 but in the 30s with occasional dips in the 20s on the EC135. I think for helicopters the higher the FPS the easier to fly .

4GB and definitely enough free space on the SSD.
Like I said, the computer is very weak. I need to tweak the game beyond the settings.
Complex Cockpits seem to be the worst FPS reducing culprit

I’m trying to play this on a potato laptop. So far I have lowered everything but still barely breaking 30FPS

NeverMind, I kept tapping buttons on the MCP and now I have SPD and FMS on let’s see how it goes
interesting that the FMA did not show anything , and the approach mode didn’t work even though I had an approach programmed in the FMC. That being said , the autopilot flew well enough until I turned it off at the threshold

I added an approach from the navigation menu but it doesn’t slow down enough on final and I can’t control the speed from the MCP

Ok, finally figure it out. Basically you enter the MDA on the MCP a few miles before you reach TOD.

Seems like FMS PATH disconnects during the final segment of the approach, shouldn’t it bring you down to decision height?

There is a tutorial available:
Thanks much!

I was able to intercept the ILS once, using the Navigation game menu to align me with the runway.
Is there a tutorial for entering the runways in the UNS-1? I’d like to plan the flight from the cockpit .

In Aerofly FS 4 we added an assistance feature for this, that automatically tunes the frequency even if the aircraft itself would not do that automatically.
Thanks, this was with Aerofly 2023

If I enter a flight plan in the UNS-1, it implements a VNAV profile automatically, right? I gave it arrival information as a runway. In my attempt it did not descend automatically when approaching the runway. Also, is it supposed to intercept the ILS localizer and glide slope by tuning to the frequency automatically?
