If I remember correctly it should be possible to enter a flight plan from scratch in the King Air. Perhaps you need to delete the old flight plan from the navigation menu before you can start but let me verify that it works...
Edit: yes, you can create a flight plan but then a discontinuity is added which you cannot clear in the King Air. I'll change that.
