Flying direct from San Diego to 12 mile finals San Francisco 28L I seem to have had a sort of scenery failure where the two regions join. At about 100 nm south east of San Francisco the scenery gave a odd texture and the land became 1,640 feet below sea level. The odd texture changed to a low fog which continued all the way to the Bay area. I checked the location map at about 15 miles from SFO and when I returned to the cockpit view all was back to normal with perfect scenery and the ground at sea level.
The route, the Top Of Descent was at exactly 100 miles from SFO.
