Everybody, please let's stay nice here.

Offering the airport lighting as an 'option' is usually not a good idea. Even if we write a big warning that this might reduce performance, we will get numerous support cases with complaints. Sorry, but it's always been like this. ( The same issue is with Vulkan, we shouldn't have offered this option as well, just too few devices support it and support cases are coming in with lots of complaints, even though we said it's experimental and not well supported ).

Our goal with this beta is to find out if this beta update works in general, which does seem to be the case. However, the performance on most customers phones is just too low, so we have to remove a feature here. But at least almost all users will get working aircraft light then, compared to the current version.

Android is unfortunately a difficult platform for a high performance application like Aerofly FS.

Ok, performace is expected to be lower with aircraft AND airport lights enabled in this special version. We might have to disable the airport lighting ( from the buildings ) to keep performance acceptable. We might test this in the next beta.

    Dear Aerofly FS 2023 Users,

for our customers with an Android phone/tablet we have published an experimental version that offers aircraft and airport lighting even when using our standard OpenGL renderer. If you would like to test out this version, please visit any of the two links below:

Aerofly FS 2023 - Apps on Google Play
    Aerofly FS 2023 Flight Simulator
    play.google.com

Again, this update is highly experimental and there might still be devices that still don't offer lighting even with this version.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

Please try to reduce the quality settings a little. For example try a lower pixel density and set a different overall graphics quality. Also disabling traffic might help.

On Apple iOS the operating system might remove those downloads in case storage becomes low. I am not sure if that is the case on your devices. There is no way for us to tell the iOS system to not remove those files automatically when free storage is getting low.

To help, you need to tell us a little more. What graphic card do you have and what Windows version. If possible please show the contents of the log file 'tm.log' located in 'Documents/Aerofly FS 4/tm,log'

Again, in the Android world we can't tell you more besides what we said previously. We only tested the Google Pixel 6. On Apple devices, we have very good Vulkan support, this is mostly due to the fact that only one developer ( Apple ) is responsible and only a small number of device variations exist.

We haven't tested this device. The only devices we have tested and can use the Vulkan renderer are the Google Pixel 6 and 7.

The quality shouldn't be lower compared to the previous version 2022. If you think that is the case, please show us some screenshots. As for the low FPS in some areas like Los Angeles, the reason might be that your iPad is not fast enough for this complex airport. We will look into this however and try to improve the performance in a future update.
