I am also waiting for Aerofly FS4 and using the AFFS2- Why? FS2 is still giving the best solution for unlimited aerobatics in VR. MSFS 2022 is still no option here. Sportsman level might work, but not more. (Snap roll, you know? The rudder implementation is just crap.)
I haven't done much in Aerofly FS2 for some time, just because my real live needed more attention. But still AFFS2 is my favorite sim for aerobatics.
It is tempting but I don't start another wishlist for AFFS4. (Beside of an .NetCore Interface for Hardware - in this case I would switch my Xtreme Air XA41 project from MSFS2020 to AFFS4... dang... I did it again. )
Still with the current Version: No more Tower View. Not for custom airports and also not for IPACS Airports.
I cannot use the developer cam as well, since on the way Aerofly FS 2 lost the possibility to run the replay in developer cam mode.
So there is no more possibility to record flights from the judgeing view and I need to use a different sim to compete.
Would be really great to have a fixed tower view at least till summer. Would be sad to loose a show case for Aerofly.

Ok... I am on the newest update now. Still I cannot choose the tower view at custom airports. Hm...
This is a great idea and our RC flight simulators have this feature built in. However in the Aerofly FS series the aircraft are constantly updated which would mean that the replay buffer can't just be replayed after an airplane is updated. It would require quite a bit of work to make a replay work when objects are renamed, switch names and positions in the file etc. The alternative is that all your replay files are useless after an update.
For now we have put this idea on hold because of these issues. I assume that when we have a multiplayer data format that that same format could be used to at least store the most important data long term as well to be used in a replay. But this feature is also not that easy to implement...
Can you tell us for what you use the replay? Maybe we can invent other features that can do what you want.
Interesting... so you recalculate the whole flight for the replay? If you change the weather, there will be a different outcome? Ah, I understand, this is, why the replay buffer get lost if you escape to the menu.
What I would need is the exact Lat/Lon/Alt pitch/bank/heading ... everything else would be a plus. But this would be different to what you have in memory. I know, best way to get these would be with the external dll but i need the snapshoot of these six values at the same moment, If I want to replay this in a 3d space for an (later automated) virtual aerobatic judge.
Just an Idea that would help me very much:
For some times we have the replay function in Aerofly FS2. This is great. What I like to see would be a possibility to write the replay buffer from memory to the harddrive for further analytics. It should be readable (or at least with an description how it is stored) and exact (no rounded numbers). Really great would be a load function as well, but a save would do for me.

Also I changed the start parameter from -oculusvr to -steamvr . I don't known if this makes any sense, but in my case it works.
I don't know if it is possible to get this work without steam (I have also like you the DVD version).

At least this is what works for me... if your version is working without the external_folder option inside the main.mcf I would have learned another thing.
Try using this tool if you are on windows computers:
Always use the scenery with the highest level of detail files (13,14,15..) as the prefered one and deactivate the lower detailed sceneries.
There are desks you can change the height electrically. Perfect if you want working sitting and upright. Should solve your problem.

The source I have is download level 16. Aerofly Level 13 needs higher quality (in my opinion.) so it is not "just" sampling level 13. I would need to do it again (four time or even 16 times longer for Level 14). There is a reason why the Czech Republic take so much longer time and I am far from ready here since there is much more work on the textures.
If you want to do areas in higher solution (preferable around the airfields) then you can do it with aero scenery and google maps as a source,
For Asturias you can disable my textures with my tool.
(My holidays are over now, not much time anymore,)

Nicht Auflösung der Cultivation. Nur die Größe der Cultivations. Es mach Sinn, diese so zu kacheln wie die Images und die Elevations. Aber mit einer Level 10 Größe fährst du in der Regel gut. Wenn aber mal jemand mit einem richtig gut aufgelösten Mesh daher kommt, kann es sein, dass deine Cultivation wieder "fliegt".
"Tile size" of cultivation should also be equal or better one higher (smaller) than the elevation/mesh-size to avoid floating houses and trees. The highest mesh level must load before cultivation.
