Sorry, Sir. I am busy as hell.
Yes, I thought about this solution as well.
But the lights will be in the wrong height as well, if we have different tocs/tscs for them. No problem during the flight but during the landing, I guess.
Wow... another aspect. I have not thought about this. The thing is, for cultivation I use now quiet small size parameters (1000). Why? Because you get flying houses and trees (and quiet sure also lights) if I increase this parameter, since the cultivations would be loaded earlier than the mesh files.
So we are here in a dilemma: Popping lights against flying cultivation.
For performance reason I would prefere the small size values since it avoids flying houses and the sim does not need to load too many files.
If you fly high, I guess it would be good to get lights not from the cultivation files but from a kind of light map from the ortho images. This would solve in a way the popping lights - although I don't think this is working yet or even planed. Also lights from cultivation files should be less intensive if far away. If this is the case it would smoothly blend in and not popping.
I think there is still no official paint-kit.
But at https://flight-sim.org/ you can find my livery as well as my sources for the livery. It was kind of hard to figure out the textures but it was worth the work, I think.
I have no pilot license. But I am real world aerobatic judge.
Until now I only fly classic virtual aerobatics. This is my first try to do a full freestyle program, after learning some single freestyle figures. There are some things not working as planned, but sssshhht.
Only the livery is my own, no other modifications.
Thank you, IPACS, for this wonderful simulator with the unbelievable flight dynamic and especially to the designers of this beautiful plane. ❤
Ooookey… this explains a lot…
One addon question: What is the efficient way to find out the install place of aerofly fs 2 programmatically?
Really nice... I HAD to do it.
Can you compile the toc files? The scenery would work a bit more smooth.
Of cause the link is still active after reboot.
In between we all known the extra_user_folder tweak to move sceneries away from the c:\users\[user]\documents.... drive.
But what happens, if this drive is also full?
I tried it with normal links from one directory to the other, this does not work.
But windows know since Win7 another possibility: symlinks.
With these windows thinks the linked place is a part of the same harddrive.
And this works with aerofly fs 2!
My addon folder is here:
D:\Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator Addons\
Here I have the szenery Tanzania that I just move (not copy) to a different harddrive.
D:\Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator Addons\scenery\Tanzania
Then I open the command line (cmd) and enter:
mklink /J "D:\Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator Addons\scenery\tanzania" "Z:\Hardlinks\Tanzania"
After "enter" he build a "hard" link "Tanzania" in D:\Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator Addons\scenery\
it looks like a standard link in the file explorer.
Start Aerofly and you will see that the scenery still loads perfectly.
You can see a german explanation here:
or just search for mklink or symlink
What you describe here is the Steam add-on folder in the Steam version. It's works, but not suited for that purpose.
I simply want the same ADDON structure for the user-defined folder, in other words save AFS2 sceneries as complete add-ons at a user-defined location, e.g. a dedicated SSD
Anybody at IPACS could please check and reply?
Thank you in advance
Uhm... I do not have a steam version. Just the DVD version.
The replay works exactly like the 2d replay, just without the slider.
Press P for pause,
PlaybackStart to start the playback
PlaybackStop to stop the playback
PlaybackBack to rewind to start.
You have the freedom to change between any view, under VR or 2d or both.
Just try it.
I just wondering, if I can change/add the view configurations. (Of cause, making a backup of the mcf file before.)
<[vector3_float64][position][0 0 0]>
<[matrix3_float64][direction][1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1]>
Anyone played around with this part before?
I can also zoom, just had forgotten how.
Uh... terrible first part... It was better under VR. Start in the middle of the video aprox 8:50.
