You could be more polite about people with other opinions and interests then you have.....
SteamVR has always been mandatory for Windows Mixed Reality headsets as you already know for two years now:
Aerofly FS2 und Windows Mixed Reality (ohne Steam)
It is what it is.....
There might be a workaround though:

Google is our friend (?)...No experience with this, I'm a happy Steam user.

Can this patch be uploaded to flightsim.org too?
It's kind of hard to find over here....
-
Something seems to be broken, try this one:
https://flight-sim.org/filebase/index…this-one-works/
The Lynx is great too:

Great patch:

You need to register for an account on flightsim.org, after that you can download all scenery, aircraft etc....

Found this one on the Tube, still have to install it myself but it's looking good....Thanks!

Sorry about that, was probably a bit distracted while reading your post..
Don't know if it's possible to use the touch controllers buttons to trigger the escape key...
But you can go to Virtual Desktop menu while in a game or Aerofly with a long press on left controller menu button, then choose for desktop and get a virtual keyboard by pressing left controller X button. Then you have a virtual escape button and the Aerofly menu on the virtual desktop.
I might tell you nothing new (again) but it doesn't take much time to do it this way...
Some games running wireless with Virtual Desktop go back to menu with a long press left controller Y button, but that does not work with Aerofly FS2...
Maybe the IPACS team can add that too? -
Yeah, wireless Virtual Desktop with the Quest 2 (and a Wifi 5 or 6 router at 866 Mbps) is pretty amazing although I run most software on 60 Hz and 60 fps with my old PC.
5 Ghz Wifi has a shorter range compared to the 'old' 2,4 Ghz Wifi so it's best to be not too far away from your router (same floor is fine over here)...
Still a much better picture then with my Lenovo Explorer headset.
Reviewers indeed report a slightly narrower Field Of View with the Reverb G2 compared to the G1....
I don't know about your other questions but you can assign the ESC key to a joystick button in one of the AFS2 menu's, I've done so for years.Happy holidays!

Wouldn't that be nice! Sadly no.
We will 'have to do' with the Apache and Lynx for now.

The difference between native headset resolution and your render resolution:

Sure..And every other VR headset too... Aerofly FS2 has great performance in VR!
I am very happy with my Quest 2, you will need some PC power for a high res headset, with a 1660/1070 card you will need to lower the settings. -
A 1070 card is good enough for a Quest2/Reverb and Aerofly FS2, You can lower resolution and still have almost no screendoor effect when framerates drop too much in XP11 or DCS for example.
A better GPU would be nice, the rest of your PC is quite fast as it is now....
With Reverb/WMR you can still play your games bought at Oculus by using SteamVR and Revive.
Windows Mixed Reality software can be a bit quirky sometimes, I had to do a full reinstall a few times a year and the Reverb controllers are not so good compared to Oculus.
I like to do some gaming too and for that reason I bought the (also wireless for PCVR) Quest 2 instead of the Reverb...The Reverb has great sound though and the Quest 2 not so much, I modded a Sennheiser HD25 to fit permanently on the Quest, finally no wires in games anymore...
A Quest 2 with a better headstrap and good headphones will be close to the price of a Reverb but I like the wireless option and better controllers for games.
For flightsimulators only I would go Reverb G2...

Thanks Steve!
Didn't see this one coming but it's great to have the option.
Works fine over here but...Not from parking places, only from helipads and take off from runway which is fine to me.

Friends of me have a Reverb G1 and a Quest 2.
The Quest 2 is close in resolution to the Reverb G1and has pretty good image quality too though not as sharp as the Reverb...
Quest 2 is a good headset when you're on a budget with better controllers and the possibility for wireless PCVR gaming.
For flight simulation I would prefer the HP Reverb.

South Florida with the freeware animation package.
Orbx Monterey and Innsbruck (with freeware animated traffic) are great.
And indeed the freeware hawaii Islands!
