I can’t wait to see how it flies - thanks JP - looking forward to its release.

Hello William,
As a beginner, I think you won't need to worry about dual rates - just set up a new model and bind that to your WS2000. That way, if things go wrong, you have the simplest setup to work from. The next thing to sort out is what mode you are using:

When you apply left sticks, does the rudder and ailerons move correctly etc. You may need to reverse some controls in Aerofly to get that right.
Then if everything is moving in the correct direction - you should be good to go.

I'm putting together a list of all the user created sceneries I can find for Aerofly RC 8/9. If anyone has more, could you please add them below. I also want to thank the creators of these sceneries (in particular Paul Dürr, Jean-Pierre Aria and Cornelius Munz) - you add a lot of value and beauty to Aerofly RC.

I’ll be buying it! Thanks JP

It depends on the time. There’s usually people online in the European evenings. I’m in Australia and I rarely see online players during the middle of the day.
But multiplayer works fine.

Thanks very much JP

Thanks to everyone who has been creating content for Aerofly RC! In particular, thanks to P. Dürr and JP Aria for their work.
I had a question about scenery. Is it possible to use very high resolution images for the scenery? Many of the current scenes look fantastic, but as I fly towards to the horizon, they start to blur as the camera zooms in. This is expected of course, but I wondered whether higher resolution scenery files might help here? I know that in 2010, computers would have struggled with these images, but perhaps at 2020 computer could handle it?
Also, can I covert scenery files for RC7 directly to RC 8/9 - or do I need the original source files for the scenery in order to make the RC8/9 files?

Hi Jedorme,
Does this fix it?
1. unplug any dongles from usb.
2. plug them back in.
3. bind or link your transmitter back to it.
4. start aerofly
5. in aerofly select “controller”
6. select your transmitter.
see if that works.
If it doesn’t, pm me - I’ve been using aerofly on a mac every day for more than a year without problems.

Great to hear! With a little fiddling, you'll be able to get flaps going from your transmitter because the WS2000 supports 8 channels. I setup a 3 way switch also to do: nothing, brakes, smoke.

I have used aerofly rc 8 on a mac using a DX9 and NX10 and a WS2000 wireless dongle and it has worked perfectly. I setup my work station with the WS2000 always plugged into a USB slot so that when my laptop is plugged it, the WS2000 is ready to go. I just turn on my transmitter, then start Aerofly RC and it works. Now I have a NX10 and I use the cable instead - although the WS2000 works with that too.

Unfortunately, the situation is very unsatisfactory for our customers as well as for ourselves.
...
We will therefor consider an alternative way of offering future versions of Aerofly RC to Mac users, preferably through Steam.
Thanks for trying so hard to get this fixed with Apple. I read that Apple is very difficult - and many other development houses have failed in this regard also.
Well, your new preferred solution (Steam), is also mine - as it if flexible. I'd like to be able to use Aerofly RC on a mac or pc without having to pay twice.
Now that you have control of the situation - can you give an update about what the plan is - with a timeline perhaps?
-
Thanks very much JP!

bought the slick of jp aira and it flies horrible
Not worth your money i wish i bought a other oneDidn’t I buy that Slick for you by donating to JP Aria on your behalf?

To progress well with an RC flight simulator, you must consider each flight as in reality.
Make and repeat new figures until they are perfect.
Good to meet you Jparia. I find that as long as there is something I am consciously trying to improve, I generally improve. Though not as fast I as would like.
In my opinion, the multiplayer mode does nothing to progress. It's more for fun.
I agree. Although it does help indirectly. For example, I met Andra Cervi flying on Aerofly RC multiplayer. His flying and encouragement inspired me to keep going.

Hello
I’ve been posting a bit recently and so I thought I’d introduce myself. I’m from Melbourne Australia and I’ve been flying Aerofly RC a lot for the past three months (I’m averaging about an hour a day). I’m on multiplayer and you might see me as AddCrow, Crowllenir etc. I’v been flying for about 3 years, but only seriously for a bit over a year.
Some of the pilots at my club told me to not invest in a sim, as “they don’t help”. Another pilot said frequent simming is the key to progress and I’m glad I took his advice.
So I forked out the considerable sum and bought Aerofly Rc and I’m using it to improve my 3d flying skills. I want to fly an hour a day for a year and really make progress. As such, I’m invested in Aerofly RC. I’ve used the cheaper Real Flight 9.5S (now "Real Flight Evolution”) and I would guess that Horizon Hobbies has the beginner's market pretty well wrapped up through their various acquisitions. However, I’ve found Aerofly RC to be the better training simulator (with better graphics too) and many fewer gimmicks. I hope that Aerofly RC continues to add features to support serious training - and that it becomes the go to software product for pilots who want to train seriously.I’ve been posting ideas for features in another thread in case anyone is interested. They mainly concern features I’d use as I train.
Great to meet you,

As part of my training, I want to fly parallel and perpendicular to the runway. Currently I use the radar if I really need to check, but that means looking away from my plane. It would be handy if there was a visual indicator associated with the plane when it is in these orientations with respect to the runway. For example, a line emanating from the plane running ahead and behind it, that only appears when the plane this parallel or perpendicular to the strip.

Hi,
5-10 seconds, seems very long to me
It feels that long to me! But it might be much shorter

How about the ability to place objects on the field in Panoramas? This would be handy to set up small courses to fly around.
This is what I mean (although I'm sure your dev team would do a better job on the implementation

for an all black aircraft, it would certainly be possible to create a ttx of black images corresponding to the names of the ttx images used for a particular aircraft and place them in a subdirectory of the aircraft folder with a designation file of the black color. Thanks for the tip - I’ll have a go at it.
