Not bad for a Wright flyer! The 1903 real one could not climb out of wing effect, maximum altitude 2/3 of the wing span. They made brilliant progress and were always miles ahead of the other pioneers.
The MS FS2004 1903 Wright Flyer had very authentic performance, it lost airspeed above 40 feet!

A canard is stable as the fore wing has a higher incidence. A small pitch reduction will significantly reduce the main wing lift but will have little effect on the fore wing, thus a pitch down will lift the nose back up again. The Wright had no fixed area on the all flying fore plane or no anti-servo tab as fitted to most Piper all flying tails so the pilot could not easily hold a stable fore plane attitude.
