I visited it just after the Wangaratta museum (on the day I got my class one medical). It had changed a lot from my previous visit many more years ago. The collection is/was split between another RAF Museum, Cosford near Birmingham, England. There is also a very nice Naval Aviation Museum at Yeovilton, Dorset.
