Interesting way to merge the physical into VR

  • One complication I see with VR is the loss of (or inability to see) tactile physical hardware. The idea of using the touch controller to fly a plane is not appealing to me when I have a nice solid ACE B737 Yoke. I had assumed that at some point IPACS would develop some alignment tech, to allow me to see my yoke in VR and align it to the virtual one. I guess they could even offer different virtual yokes to the standard, as I can't go swapping my yoke when I switch aircraft. As for aircraft that use joysticks, well that's not going to work.

Anyway, look at this idea from logitech for bringing physical objects into the virtual world. https://uploadvr.com/vr-keyboard-logitech-vive-tacker/
