Flight plan altitude restrictions

  • Hi all,

I'm using more and more the navigation tool to create long flights and I was wondering if the flight plan is taking into account the altitude restrictions, specially during the approaches. Will I crash against the mountains during the descending phase? =O

  • The only altitude restriction active at the moment is the point just before the final approach fix. There is a certain level off segment in the generated vertical profile, this altitude restriction is already met by the autopilot. But apart from that there are no alt restrictions active yet.

As mentioned before, together with the development of ATC the flight planning might get improved as well, perhaps even adding departures and arrivals so that we can get around these mountain issues (literally).

At the moment the final approach fix is quite far out and might put the final approach through mountains. But we will fix this in the future.

    Regards,
