Creating TFW files?

  • How is this not automated?

Parsing XML files should be easy, getting the image resolution should be easy, the xml files have the same name as the images so referencing the correct image should be easy.

If I were a developer I'd have already done it, but I suck at coding and I know it. However, I know enough to know that someone who codes daily could do this in 10 minutes.

  • I know, however great this all is there should (and there will eventually, an American and drhotwing1 are busy) be an executable or website in witch you can point to your fset files and set the levels you want and an output directory... click... something like that.

The inf2tfw application does this automatically already. The INF files need to be converted over to TFW and the application does that in one step.

The geoconvert tool is built to accommodate files from different sources and some of those don't work with INF files, so a secondary tool was written (thanks to Rodeo and his son) for this process.

OK, the inf2tfw application is for users of FSET. For the USGS process (as in the wiki) you need to either do this manually or use a user created automated process that i'm not sure is ready yet. See the thread here: USGS JP2 Converter Application Update
