Landing gear lever is near your left knee. Black lever with black knob, just aft of the throttle quadrant.
Instrument just right of altimeter is airspeed indicator.

Just tried it here. ALT SEL works normally for me. Select an altitude with the pre-select rotary, then push (once) ALT SEL. Climb in IAS or pitch mode or descend in VS mode and the AP captures the selected alt. Climbing or descending it is working for me as it should.
Are you sure you are not changing the alt when it is in the capture phase? And it is the ALT SEL button you are selecting not the ALT button?

Grand Canyon West. Take-off and then dive into the canyon! Brilliant fun.

I like the VR hands cockpit interaction but now I'm bumping into my keyboard, desk, and HOTAS stuff.
I agree with Kenventions above comments. Imo using the touch controllers in the cockpit (with a HOTAS system), awkward at best. With VR gloves it would be awesome. See a vid of Oculus gloves in action here:

I need vision correction for distance. Found wearing glasses with the rift horrible. Scratched the rift lenses a bit also... went back to contacts. Now VR in the rift is a thing of beauty. Also try finding the sweet spot of the rift by moving it up and down slightly, adjusting the strap as needed. It needs to be precisely positioned for the best possible clarity.
Cheers!

> Hopefully one day we can do the same in AFS2
One day? I land like that more often than not now...

The reasons I subject myself to the "other" Q400 sim are, more in depth systems, the HGS which they have beautifully modeled. Would be fantastic to have this technology in the AFS2, and local airport terrain. Unfortunately by the time I get it (the underlying simulation) running I often am at the point where i want to throw my pc out the window.
What I really love about AFS2 is I turn it on and it works. I do not have to spend hours trying to just make it run.
There are 500+ Q400's out in the real world, and thousands of Q pilots to fly them. There is a market out there for a more in depth version of AFS2's Q400. Personally, I would be happy to pay for a more in depth version of the AFS2 Q.
Just say'in.
You guys keep up the awesome work!

I never heard of this device before! Now it's on my whish list!
But I wonder... will it make the chair vibrate for the whole flight? Is it even comfortable?Mine has a control and is adjustable. I can set it to "Hollywood" rattle or tone it down to provide a more realistic effect. I did mount my seat on 1/2" thick foam gym mats. The seat with the vibrations adds another fantastic layer of immersion. Honestly I had this thing wired up to my sofa and movie sound system for about 6 months... kick myself for not slapping it on my sim rig right away.

Could you give us a link to read about the tactile sound transducer? Sounds like a good next level.
Regards,
Ray
Hi Ray,
It's basically a bass shaker. Takes sound input from the sim and translates the bass from sound to vibration. In my other sim, DCS A-10c with the bass shaker on and when the GAU-8 cannon is fired... I feel it through the seat (and as my stick and pedals are mounted to my seat), the vibrations are also transmitted through the stick and pedals. Extend the flaps, speed brake, gear, and you feel it. Touch down and you feel it. Stall and you feel it.
I've had to put my sim seat on rubber mats to dampen the vibration and keep Mrs. B happy.
My tactile sound transducer is one I found used (Messina GSS) but it does the same basic thing as a buttkicker. Couple of links below for more info.

If you think AF2 is good on a monitor... you WILL have a mind explosion with AF2 in VR.
Im using rift CV1, and have just added a tactile sound transducer to my sim seat. Now I get the vibrations, can feel the airframe shake. Wow.

Merry Christmas all. Safe and happy holidays.
