Dornier Do-18F
My Do-18F is based on my AFPD model from the year 2009. I created it using the scale model of Dr. Arnim Selinka. His model was built in 1:9 scale; rudder, elevator, flaps and ailerons are hinged.
The model was powered by 2 Flyware LRKs, with 4-cell Kokam 3200 and 3900 mAH.
Special Features:
The windows on both sides and the right one on the rooftop can be closed by using the function Cockpit (Nr. 8 on the keyboard). The left window on the rooftop works with the same function.
The pylon door opens using the function AUX-2(1-way), which I put on Nr. 0 on the keyboard.
The DF antenna I coupled with the rudder, as well as the water rudder.

Important notice:
This model requires the version v8.00.17.01 or newer !
About the original:
It is a Do-18F. From this type there was only one machine, it had a larger wingspan. It was used from Lufthansa in the South Atlantic mail traffic and it was the only Do-18, which was able to fly with only one engine running.

Dornier Do-18F
Vorlage war mein AFPD-Modell aus dem Jahr 2009. Seitenruder, Höhenruder, Landeklappen und Querruder sind angelenkt. Das Original-Modell von Arnim Selinka war im Maßstab 1:9 gebaut. Es war mit 2 Flyware LRKs ausgerüstet, die von je 4 Zellen Kokam 3200, bzw. 3900mAH angetrieben wurden.
Sonderfunktionen:
Die Seiten-Fenster und das rechte Dachfenster lassen sich mit der Funktion Cockpit (Ziffer 8 auf der Tastatur) schließen. Mit der gleichen Funktion wird das linke Dachfenster aufgeklappt.
Die Tür im Pylon öffnet sich bei Betätigung der Funktion AUX-2(1-way), die ich bei mir auf die Ziffer 0 der Tastatur gelegt habe.
Das Wasserruder ist mit dem Seitenruder gekoppelt, ebenso die Peilantenne.

Zum Original: Es ist eine Do-18F. Von diesem Muster gab es nur eine Maschine, sie hatte eine vergrößerte Spannweite. Sie wurde von der Lufthansa im Südatlantik Postverkehr eingesetzt und sie war die einzige Do-18, die sich mit nur einem Motor in der Luft halten konnte. Sie verkehrte zwischen dem heutigen Gambia und Natal in Brasilien. Um Sprit zu sparen wurde sie jeweils an der entsprechenden Küste von Schleuderschiffen abgeschossen, den Rest der Strecke konnte sie nonstop (damals hieß es im "Ohnehaltflug") zurücklegen.
