User sceneries RC8/9 all download links dead

    I stumbled onto this site on the ikarus homepage (don't actually know how you can navigate to it) but it seems all user generated sceneries can't be downloaded anymore, all links to the .zip files are dead: https://www.ikarus.net/user-szenerien-rc8-rc9/



    What about all those additional user sceneries and the work that the community has put into those?
    I read that they can't be directly imported into RC10 (at least a few months ago in October 2023)?
    I really would like to extend the available collection of RC10 sceneries, really sad to see all those nice user generated content seems to be just vanishing...
    Also, I can't find any current infos on available modding SDKs + HowTos for creating custom content for RC10..
    Everything I found is dating back to RC7, 8 or 9.. What's up with that?

    I put this list together here - it is everything I could fine. They are all RC8/9 compatible meaning they don’t work on RC10.

    List of user created sceneries

    I'm putting together a list of all the user created sceneries I can find for Aerofly RC 8/9. If anyone has more, could you please add them below. I also want to thank the creators of these sceneries (in particular Paul Dürr, Jean-Pierre Aria and Cornelius Munz) - you add a lot of value and beauty to Aerofly RC.

    Thanks for the info! Looking forward to that. Please keep us updated on the progress.
    Will there also follow a RC10 SDK and updated information on how user generated content (especially sceneries) are now created for RC10 from scratch (and how older sceneries are converted) - or at least updated information on what might have changed in the workflow?

    The downloads have been back since weeks, but they are still RC9 downloads only and no info on RC 10 scenary handling / conversion in sight..
    You guys are very quiet here, is there a reason for that?
    I bought the game + both extension packs to support you, but where is your support? Money wasted? I hope not..

    it is up to those who created the models and scenes to convert them to the RC10 version.

    Much of that content has been developed at great time and expense by people such as yourself. Not all of them will be able to upgrade their sceneries to RC10. So alternatively the devs could:

    * Release a tool allowing the community to convert existing sceneries to be compatible with RC10 or

    * Change AeroflyRC10 to be compatible with older sceneries or

    * Make a clear statement about their intentions for supporting 3rd party development of content for RC10.

    You might have missed the point of my thread.

    • There is currently no documentation provided by the devs on how the conversion process to RC10 should look like.
    • You apparently also didn't read that they promised that they would make the downloads work for IC10.
    • I currently also see no visible intentions by the devs to provide information on how to do community driven content for IC10 (apparently a few things changed since RC9, making RC9 content like sceneries not compatible) and I would love to see a change in this (if we don't ask, we probably won't get something like this?)

    So yes, of course conversions could theoretically be done by the community and the original authors like you that provide custom models and sceneries. But we have to know how and have the tools for that in order to be able to do that, right?

    The conversion tools use the source files developer the other developers do not have.

    Any update / info from the devs on this? I'd love the ability to create custom content (especially environments) for RC10, but I can't find any info on how to do it. Only stuff dating back to RC 7, 8 and 9, and no info on what needs to be done to convert or create content from scratch for RC10. Are you planning to release a RC10 SDK (plus updated RC10 documentation) for the community?
