I would strongly suggest that you install Aerofly on a fixed drive.

Thanks Jeff,
I agree. That is the goal here. It took 24 hours to download and install. Can the folders and files be moved rather than a total reinstall? It looks like I just need to reset the user folder location in Aerofly FS 2.
Where is the user folder location set in Aerofly FS 2?

Ray,
not good and a bit frustrating I bet.
The user folder should be in your documents folder. The problem is that Steam needs to direct the install of Aerofly as it's a Steam program and not stand alone.
Have you tried to use the Steam file integrity check to see if Steam will adjust everything again without a full uninstall/reinstall?

Would you be able to right click on Aerofly in the steam client and go into properties and select to move it there?

I will see. Thanks.

I think I have the User Folder location straightened out now. I unlinked the Microsoft onedrive, evidently you really can't just delete it, plus it is a free 5GB of cloud storage space, I set it up so I can log in to it when needed but it is not actively linked as it was previously.
Some of the Alienware FX optional program setting files are location on this onedrive so I will have to see if Dell/Alienware Support can walk me through a reload onto one of my physical drives during working hours next week.
I performed the Steam file check after I created (copied) all the proper and necessary folders and files in the proper Documents/Aerofly FS 2 location.
The problem was the main.mcf was being updated in the cloud and not on my physical pc. Now is appears to be working correctly.
I was also successful it getting the extra_user_files folder setup and working on a data drive for large scenery files. (Thanks again, Jan)

Yes, it was Jan that posted the only workable example of the “extra_user_files” that actually worked for me.

So my time trying to get this working for you didn't matter?
