Has there been a change in the Q400 autopilot? I can't get it to stop at the altitude I set. It beeps when 1000 feet away, but blows on through. I can push the AP button and it sets the altitude where it is, but I can't dial it in ahead of time.

Just arm the altitude capture, then it will capture the altitude.
This has been a feature since day 1 of the q400 I think. This is a really bad design of the real world aircraft and I modeled that accurately.

Hmmm, I must have forgotten something in the altitude selection process (age related memory loss?). As you know I have been a big fan of the Q400 and have been flying it since day one. I don't think I am doing anything differently with the autopilot than I had been doing previously.
I will give it another try and see what I am missing.

After selecting another altitude, you always have to press that little ALT SEL button
-
That is exactly what I have been doing, just like always, to no effect!
I should be able to try again tonight.

Maybe one of the recent control update changes introduced a bug. But since its already working in my developer version again this should fix itself with time.

I seem to have to push the ALT SEL button an extra time, that's all.
No big problem.

Just tried it here. ALT SEL works normally for me. Select an altitude with the pre-select rotary, then push (once) ALT SEL. Climb in IAS or pitch mode or descend in VS mode and the AP captures the selected alt. Climbing or descending it is working for me as it should.
Are you sure you are not changing the alt when it is in the capture phase? And it is the ALT SEL button you are selecting not the ALT button?
