Military Cargo Planes???

You would have a lot support from the user community if you chose to build a P-51, mostly from the US side of the pond, otherwise it would be a Spitfire. Here is the model we have flying in AFS2 from Mr. K. Almost no interior and minimal panel. If I remember correctly, the guy that was building the P-40 added the wing tanks.
-
If you had come back with something low and slow, I was going to suggest you bring that Savage Cub with you. We have a Cub Special that is actually quite nice, but could always use something modern like a Carbon Cub or X cub. Two have been started but never got to the stage we could beta test them.
-
I never liked flying tail draggers both in the real and simulation worlds so I would go with a Cessna 172
-
I love the Spitfire so maybe that could be the seconded aircraft I hone my skills on

We already have an excellent C-172 Skyhawk that Jan (IPACS) took a special interest in and did a lot of tweaking early on. What we don't have are the larger expansions of the 172; the Cessna 182, Cessna 206, or 210. How about an early version of a Cessna 208 Caravan with steam gauges. Now that would attract some attention. Perfect for Island flying.

Or, how about I start with the Robin as I go through Your acft Workshop.

or delivering pizzas in Alaska. I would love an Alaska St scenery package for Aerofly FS2020

That is suppose to be the only way to get the DR400 in FS2, build it using the SDK. It is pretty much built already for you, but, you are suppose to have a working example of building an airplane, and the Robin is it.
We are about to have the Hawaiian Islands, and we have a lot of Norway, but, I don't think anyone is working on Alaska right now.
Are you using Aerofly FS2020 (mobile) or FS2 (pc version)?
-
I use the pc version only. I have an interest more so in scenery development then aircraft. I have a little experience with FS Earth tiles but that is it. I have been spending days going over and learning your DK for scenery and will be giving it a shot with Alaska in the coming time.
-
I look forward to Hawaii. I thought I did see Hawaii somewhere downloadable for Aerofly FS020. I forget which site though.
-
Good. Most of us use FS2 or AFS2 to identify the pc version. We never, ever us the 2020, that is reserved for the mobile version.
I recommend you jump over to our sister site and register and then check out what is available for freeware scenery.

Orbx has some very nice scenery available for AFS2. Monterey, Innsbrook, Meigs, and Eagle County, CO. are individual packages and Netherlands TE is a great package. Aerosoft also has two extreme packages for AFS2.
-
You gotta quit using Aerofly FS2020, nobody know what you a talking about. Pick FS2 or AFS2 for the PC version. The link above will take you to the 1st of 4 releases of Hawaii.

from experience
Rule 1
Build what YOU want and NOT what other people want...reason..your more likely to finish something you want. I would suggest steam gauges but it's up to you. Complicated or simple it matters not, the process is the same.
Rule 2
Build exterior model with undercarriage, uv map and a very basic texture (single colour), forget the interior. Get the model flying in FS2 and undercarriage working. When that happens build interior, better textures and add what ever else you want....reason...after building the Lynx I thought I was safe and didn't follow the rule. My CH53 bit me on the backside and wasted a lot of time so I moved on to the AH64.
Rule 3
On all matters TMD, Jetpack is the Jedi master, no if's no but's
Rule 4
If you get stuck ask
Rule 5
Rule 1 supersedes all other rules

Sorry about my mistake's with Acronym's. After twelve years or so in the military, I have too many of them jumbled around in my head. FS2 it is... -
BOHICA was my favorite. Boomer Subs, Project Apollo.
-
FUBAR is also a good one.

Thank you very kindly for the hook-up on Hawaii

FUBAR is good for me, It does not require me to think for a minute before putting it all together.
