Is there a real reason for dead engines outside Switzerland? It big time mucks up instrument flying into border airports. Why
FS dead engines inside the EU (!)

I think its probably to make the sim more realistic so you can't fly along next to the edge of the world. It could be a bit further out though

You are exiting the Swiss scenery area -- when the engine quits, do a quick 180, and it will restart again after you glide back over the border!

I have flown over borders and overseas and the engines didn't quit, even if I filed real proper flight plans and waited for eurocontrol. The point is not about doing a 180 or hitting the +1000 feet button, it's why? Border proceedures ignore borders, even from Switzerland into .. Gasp... italy, hassle free, no horror.

This is just the way AFS works at this point. The devs say that in future releases you will be able to cross borders without the engine quitting. And I have only experienced this heading south. I've flown into Germany without the engine quitting, but I think AFS put some "secret" runways there and probably want you to be able to discover them…
And we are talking about AFS, right? You can't file flight plans in AFS like you can in some other sims. Or are you just jesting? If so, its to subtle for me! LOL

Sorry, obviously on the wrong wavelength, no idea of what AfS is. I am curious and really anticipate that it is something interesting, sorry for the ignorance.
A euro F ly S omething, again sorry for being thick.
Auto something? Frequency Control? 40 watt bulb right now. -

Kind of funny that you would be a registered member and making posts in the Aerofly FS iPad/iPhone app forum and not know that! LOL. Now you will have to get the app and find out what we are all talking about!
Join us -- it is the best flight sim out there. And if you do, welcome to the group!
Cheers,
