IPACS?
I thought Frui was doing this ...
No no, World2XP is developed by antwob for X-plane. Now if only he is willing to do a version for FS 2...

I think vukos was talking about Tonywob's interest in Aerofly. Vukos hopes IPACS will contact Tonywob so he could start working on something like Ortho4XP but then for Aerofly FS 2. That would be nice indeed.
I watched a video of World2XP and I like it and also hope it will come for FS2.
My credit card is at the ready for any UK scenery. It looks amazing.
I doubt it would be much good for New Zealand, it's frustrating that everything seems to be happening either in Europe or the States!!!! What about the rest of the globe?????? 😎
This is about World2XP and making scenery yourself, if this even comes to FS2 why would it
not be good for NZ?
The houses and buildings in Europe are just not the same as they are here in NZ so models from Europe look, well, different, not local if ya know what I mean, Frui quoted (Especially good in Europe) because the people that have been entering the models/data into this are from Europe who would naturally have their home as a pinpoint of interest thats all
Ah, now I understand.
But if you could imput your own models and data into OSM then that would be very interesting, plus very time taking I reckon in the next 5 years we will be flying the globe with life like scenery, hey, with the latest technology and from what I have seen in other games even the fake scenery looks real :0 some of it is absolutely outstanding, Imagine once that sort of stuff gets implemented into flightsim
I have not the time or the talent to do this but will always be a customer of some-one who has

It is very easy to edit OpenStreetMap. It offers online editing tools and basic tutorials that is easier than using GeoConvert, and it is fun: http://www.openstreetmap.com
You are right. NZ and AU have much less OSM input by local people than EU, but we can do it ourselves! I have just added my house and the neibouring. It's really like a breeze, and have great sense of achievement. Then it can be converted using World2FS2...oh no I mean World2XP for now.

You make it sound as if OSM is something like GeoConvert. It isn't. They have nothing to do with each other.

No they have nothing to do with each other. I just mean OSM is so easy to make. Everything is graphic and intuitive.
Hi all,
Yes, I've been pining to get OSM and other GIS data into this sim since AFS v1 :-).

Actually, NZ is probably one of the first areas I would want to see. I have been working on a scenery for X-Plane based on LINZ data and it's one of my favourite regions in the sim.

Wow wow wow! Look who is here. This is tonywob, the creator of World 2XP! Welcome Tony, and thank you for your great program! I have been benefited so much from World2XP. Really wish there would be a AFS version. The graphics and fluid will make it a marriage in heaven. Please, please, please!
Heya Tony wow this is so cool, I always thought of NZ to be small in area but with lots of beautiful scenery packed within, it would be magic to get yourself and Robin Corn involved with this sim, very exciting
Andy😎
Also Tony Kiwi gave instructions on how to put LINZ into Ortho, I followed instructions, got my API, Pasted it into the ini file but it did not show up as a data source, I still have xplanee11 and some help with this would be great, when do you plan a release?
Buzzard2008, please post over on the Avsim.com X-Plane 11 scenery section for help with Ortho4XP/X-Plane as this is the AFS forum and I don't want to get shouted at for going off-topic :D. (For ready-made orthos, check this site out

Regarding a release for NZ for XP11. I'm not so sure. I've been waiting for some more complete data from LINZ for building footprints as I've been using address points to fill in the gaps in a lot of areas. Also, I'm finding it somewhat hard to stay motivated on making X-Plane 11 scenery lately for various reasons. I have a long vacation in NZ next month, so I'm sure I'll come back with a renewed enthusiasm to complete this finally.

Hi Tony, What would be the difficulty to do a World2FS2 compared with other platforms? I wish IPACS would give you whatever support needed. I will keep pushing this post up until they see it.
I'm guessing iPacs probably already have their own plans for a way to make autogen, but when they make an API public, I can't imagine it will be hard to do and I already have a large toolset built up, so all I would need to do is change the output format. The hardest part is making better regional artwork (Such as I did for Norway, and New Zealand), as I think the old generic W2XP lego-brick buildings aren't too pleasing to the eye
