Learjet 45

Description

In 1962, William P. Lear laid the foundation for all new business jets with the Learjet 23. It was followed by several models with different capacities, ranges and space. The Learjet 45 had its maiden flight in 1995 and is considered the first complete new development since the Learjet 23. While performance and handling is comparable to previous models, the cabin was enlarged and a glass cockpit was installed. Depending on the payload the maximum range is about 2000 mi. The typical cruising speed is 530 mph, at long distances 500 mph are achieved.

Key Features

Physics Simulation

These things are fully simulated in Aerofly FS:

  • Full multibody aircraft that bends under load
  • Natural gear compression and damping
  • Center of gravity shift from gear retraction
  • Thermodynamic engine simulation with individual components for compressor, burner, turbines, fan, drive shafts and nozzle
  • Simulated hydromechanical engine control
  • Cold and dark startup

Aerodynamics & Flight-Controls

Aerofly FS features a realistic aerodynamics simulation and this aircraft is no exception:

  • Native wing flex simulation
  • Independent simulation of flaps, ailerons, roll and ground spoilers
  • Auto spoilers
  • Primary and secondary pitch trim
  • Automatic configuration trim with flaps or airbrakes
  • Yaw damper

Autopilot, FMS & Instrumentation

  • Authentic autopilot behaviors
  • No auto-throttle just like real aircraft
  • Flight management system (FMS) with LNAV/VNAV
  • UNS-1 Control Display Units (CDUs) with interactive pages and flight planning capability
  • Realistic PFD, MFD and EICAS
  • Realistic system displays
  • Manual navigation source selection
  • Master caution and warning system

Aircraft Systems

Custom coded aircraft systems and behaviors specific to this aircraft and based on real world flight manuals:

  • Fully interactive cockpit
  • Full electric network with batteries, buses, generators, dynamic electric switches and individual electrical loads
  • Fuel system
  • Simulated CRT screen warm up

3D Model and Animations

  • High quality mesh and high resolution textures
  • Dynamic lighting and realistic exterior lights including alternating recognition lights
  • Full cabin interior model
  • Glare shield can be pulled out
  • Moving and rotating sun visors
  • Cabin entry door can be opened
  • Yoke can be pushed down to hide it
  • Adjustable display, annunciator and panel brightness

3D Directional Sounds

  • Engine sounds from real world recordings
  • Authentic radar altitude and GPWS callouts
  • Realistic master caution & warning sounds
