I'll also see if I can fix the gear maybe next weekend if I find time for it.

My first solo was so long ago, we didn't keep records,
but, I landed at the wrong airport on my first stop on the three point cross country. I only missed the intended airport by about 3 miles or so and both had the same runway alignment. That is real common in South Florida so later on when I was a CFI set up all my students to land at the wrong airport at least once while learning. It is a lot less embarrassing for a student than flying left seat in a business jet.
Thanks Jan.

It is really interesting to read about the issues behind developing 3rd party aircraft. I was really wondering why it was that we had amazing 3rd party scenery from different developers but still no aircraft. This seems to explain it quite well.
If anything, I'd be keen on having AFS2 devs put some high priority in improving the SDK and 3rd party support. At this stage I would value a lot more having 3rd party devs starting to offer addon aircraft for this sim than having ATC (still important but not so much in a sim where the aircraft pool can't grow) or more scenery. Just my 2 cents though

OK, I got around to modifying the S211 finally.
Got the gear working better now and I cleaned up the controls (clickspots). Now you should be able to fly this aircraft in VR with VR hands. The most basic items are now interactive: stick, throttle, gear lever, flap lever, parking brake and a couple of knobs that worked earlier.
I'll upload the full package on my website as we discussed (once my FDP is running again)
For everyone who as already installed this aircraft here is the little patch for you...

Everyone,
I can’t remember where they are in the forums, but I posted some great Navy Camo images on the S-211 that would make an outstanding liverery for our new S-211. Paint kit is available for download at the developers site.

Thank you very much for the upgrades. I will update the files on my blog, too.

I have plans to fix a couple of bugs in the FSX/P3D payware version... I typically add a repaint or two when I do this. I'll see if I can find the time to give a try making the livery you mentioned as it is awesome. -
Thanks Jet-Pack Jan, the landings feel much better!
Are you able to tweak the auto pilot? At speed the aircraft shakes in an oscillating feedback pattern which I guess is unintentional.

The additional Navy Camo repaint would be great. The standard Navy orange trainer repaint might be the 2nd additional repaint, if you get to it. (Confuse the masses, let them think they are seeing the T-45C) Thanks a million. I am really enjoying your S-211 in AFS2.

When I saw the transfer to IPACS, (made by Indisfoxtecho) of this plane, I found it very attractive. I was tempted to download it immediately, but I observed (by expert users) that its landing was very hard. That's why I waited for that problem to be resolved. Jan was responsible for solving this this past weekend. Solved that problem, today I decided to download it, and ... it flies frankly well and ... it lands softer than I expected.
At this point, I say:
Indiafoxtecho: Thank you very much for your assignment that enriches the IPACS fleet, and we all thank you. You have the honor of being the first to do better, this dear Sim, that contributes to our enjoyment on the flight.
Jet-Pack (Jan): Thanks for sacrificing you this weekend; You have achieved your goal and we the users thank you very sincerely.
Kind regards: Delfin

I think that the anemometer does not work on the aircraft's instrument panel. Is my observation correct?
In substitution, I thought I saw a R.P.M.
-
@DE
At least on my system, all the instruments in the front panel work with following exceptions:- cabin pressure indicator
- fuel quantity indicator
- volt-amperometer
- oil pressure indicator
- hyd pressure indicator
Ray
Actually the USN training scheme is very close to the second JPATS livery (...well...obviously) so I am not too keen on doing that.
@All
I've spotted a couple of glitches in the animations (e.g. parking brake lever, missing speedbrake actuator etc.) which are easy to fix, so I'll fix them at the earliest occasion. -

@Jetpack
I am not sure what was happening (may be I messed up the .tmd by copy-pasting some section or what) - anyway I have downloaded the files again and reinstalled it and the parking brake lever is indeed OK. -

Yes, the Navy Trainer repaint is similar to the JPATS only because they both are orange and white.
Not much else is the same. See attachment.
One has JPATS the other NAVY in bold on the fuselage sides.
One has a military ensigna on the forward fuselage and wings, the other has AGUSTA GRUMMAN on the fuselage.
The intake paint and warnings are totally different,
The wing paint is short on the JPATS and about 2 feet more towards the fuselage in the Trainer.
The vertical stabilizers are both orange but with different applications.
The JPAPS has an I-SMFT id on the tail, the Navy Trainer has nothing there.
The nose orange paint is straight on the JPATS and curved on the Trainer.
The tail cap is black on the JPATS and orange on the Navy Trainer.
The nose wheel cover is orange on the JPATS and white on the Navy Trainer.
So I guess it is all in one's point of view.
Bottom line, any additional repaints that we get will be greatly appreciated. Us Navy guys always look for the flashy ones.
Regards,
Ray

Dino posted an update to this plane today; the latest AFS2 build broke one of the systems and it wasn't loading properly.
