On final approach starts (3nm), there’s very little time for pilots to:
1. Set the ILS frequency
2. Select the course
3. Capture the glidepath
Can these three be done automatically on final approach starts (like other aircrafts)?

2 things:
1) Which 737 variant?
2) Maybe "long" 10 mile final could be used- what other ideas do you have?
A very old wish: being capable to turn radios etc. in pause mode as in any other flight sim. It is not realistic was usually the answer. I say it is not realistic to be solo in a airliner.
Just turn on the assistance for Auto Tuning in the settings that does this for you.

This is not always good. For example, I tried this BC NDB approach with Baron, but the autotuning caused the radio to switch to a different NDB. Maybe I got too close to BKS NDB. It was impossible to know because the Morse code of the NDBs/VORs is not programmed.
As soon as you manually change the frequency the assistance should pause though.

Are you true. But in this case:
“…being capable to turn radios etc. in pause mode as in any other flight sim.”
Don't get me wrong, I love this simulator. It would be nice if it were easier to handle.

1. Both*
2. Yes, thats what I've been doing
*I could be wrong as I don't fly the -500, but the two systems should be similar right?

The assistance pauses, not the sim.

I asked the question a while ago about having a First officer in an airliner, i've never seen an airliner flying with just the captain it's just not realistic.

Yes, from what I've seen they both have a manual ILS panel. Usually, I fly full flights so I tune the ILS frequency before the top of descent.
I find even the "long final" way too short. In my opinion it should be 12nm at least.
Anyway it would be nice being able to adjust the range...
I am sure it was not foreseen to allow cockpit interactions during pause. Pause is pause. To allow it would maybe mean to dig deeply into the code. Otherwise I cannot understand why it is not allowed, nobody would be forced to pause. The quick ones can handle it. But honestly it is difficult to establish properly an airplane even on a 10nm final in VR with the mouse.
IPACS please rethink.
