I think the sunrise and sets in the wrong direction is it just me or is this really in the game?

It's just you. Remember when flying in the US West Coast that, unlike at the location in your picture, the sun sets over the sea.
However, I did notice that the sun's latitude positioning is way off in AFS2. When I gave it a quick test sunset at KLAX, the sun was to the north. It's never to the north in KLAX.

well i am in the southern hemipshere and I am pretty sure the sun is not in its correct position.

I've noticed in other threads you're doing some scenery creation around Brisbane. I just did a test over Brisbane in AFS2. The sun is rising/setting in the right direction for me. Remember that the time setting in AFS2 is only in UTC (AEST is +10 hours), so when I tested sunset I set it to 7:00 UTC in the game, and it was setting to the west.

ok thanks Asheroo, so all seems to be ok, will investigate further when I get some time.

The sun is alright in LAX for me? Rises in the East, goes South, sets in the west over the ocean.
Just place your F18 on the one parking spot facing south and watch the sun go up on the left, peak above you, a bit south, and set on the right.
Please also note the difference between magnetic north and true north, which is significant... So don't just look at the heading, add the declination

Disregard my earlier comment about the sun being a little north. It sets almost exactly west at KLAX. I forgot the precise runway headings while testing. As there's no seasons or calendar I'm assuming the sun path is set for Northern Hemisphere Summer.

There is a date readout in some aircraft and as far as I know it changes when you advance time continuously. A320 has a date, I'm pretty sure

On the third week of March and September the Sun hits the horizon at due east and due west. In the northern hemisphere the sunrises and sunsets can move up to 90 degrees north in the summer depending on the locations lattitude, for example on 21st of June on the artic circle, the sun touches the horizon at midnight on due north.
From the Sunrise Sunset android app set as described, allowing for summer time.

It would be great if the sim read the current date from the computer.
