I feel a bit stupid asking this, since I've been using AFS2 for quite some time, but am I correct that the Cessna can't follow the flightplan using the AP and GPS? I usually either fly by hand OR by AP in HDG mode OR by AP in NAV mode (using VOR for triangulation etc.) but I just wanted to do a quick flight and let the plane follow the planned route using GPS. It seems this can't be done? Or am I missing something obvious? For now I will use VOR with NAV mode (which is more fun anyway) but I was curious nonetheless.

Indeed this can't be done at the moment. The reason is that the basic autopilot has not been touched by the autopilot update for the airliners. I'll bring it up again, maybe we can finally implement this

Ok, thanks!

Any news?
Which AF2 planes are able to follow a GPS flightplan?

All airliners like the A320, B737, B747, LJ45, Q400 and the C90GTx can fly a route on their own, there is no real GPS implemented yet, the positions used internally are 100% accurate and are not coming from a GPS implementation yet.
The C172 and probably the B58 as well can fly a GPS in real world but that is not implemented in Aerofly yet.

Thanks! So the c90 will be my plane of choice. Is there a way to hide the yoke?

There is no way to hide the yoke in Aerofly at this time.

What is the functional status of an ILS landing with the Cessna 172? The Cessna is willing to perform an ILS landing in APR mode, approaches the runway, but mostly next to the correct radial. The glide scope is right. I tested it with LSZH Rwy 14.

Is anyone surprised that a Cessna 172 does not have airliner avionics? I had a (ruinous) share in a Cherokee and it had a heading hold autopilot and we thought it was so cool.

The Cessna autopilot can fly an ILS, but you need to set the ILS course correctly and it doesn't correct for crosswind.
If there is a crosswind you need to turn the course into the wind.

Thank you Jan. I gave another trial and indeed … setting OBS to the right course brings the Cessna to the rigth track.
