Give the user community a couple of days to get familiar with the new RC ATC and you will probably see youtube videos galore.

Hi slipstream,
Here you go:
I'll be adding more; it would be great if the community did as well. My plan is to do at least a couple in the Netherlands for those who may not have picked up the awesome Orbx TE offering and maybe take the Lear into Innsbruck, another of my favorites.
Let me know if you have further questions or if I can share more information.
Regards,
Karl
Thank you.
Hi NE-76,
Support for voice commands/control is on my list of enhancements following release of VR. Another example of a near-term enhancement is providing copilot voice callouts - "Airspeed alive," "V1," "Rotate," "Positive rate," "Gear up," and so forth. Given additional functionality provided by IPACS' SDK, I hope to add pushback and greater control of environmental factors. These types of enhancements will be free, of course.
Regards,
Karl
P.S. Thanks Thomas!
Vielen Dank für die Auskunft.
Auch über Steam zu kaufen????

Hello Enrico,
I'm considering offering AFS2 RC ATC on Steam and Aerosoft. My goal for the initial product launch is to provide a simple, secure means for interested Aeroflyers to try and maybe buy my software. If you have a look at the product website here, you'll see it's quite simple and straightforward and provides just useful information and access to the product.
What are your thoughts? Thanks very much.
Best,
Karl
By the way, although my dad immigrated here from Bremen in 1959 and my great grandparents on my Mom's side came to the US from Austria, I don't speak a word of German. (When my wife says "обичам те" I do, of course, respond "ich liebe dich". )
Well! After two days I must say I'm very happy with this addon. It really brings AFS2 alive. No more long quiet flights, you hear voices all along the way and following the controllers instructions brings a lot of realism to the sim. Thank you Karl for your efforts.
Two things I would like to see implemented (I hope someone at IPACS reads this):
- Give the possibility to adjust automatically wind strengh and direction according to the downloaded weather;
- Offer the possibility to export AFS2 flight plans directly to a Radar Contact compatible format.
Anyway, congratulations to all involved in the development and testing of this product.
Will Little Navmap work if I don't have FSX installed?
I'm getting a "Mandatory departure airport not found" when it tries to read the route description that I copied from SkyMap.

Yes, LittleMap has ton of features. Not sure what you are trying to do with it. You can import a detailed flight plan from SkyVector to feed to RC ATC. FS2 is not one of the supported sims, but, could be one day.
you might have to add the departure and arrival airports before saving.
Hello Karl,
Is it possible to make AFS2 ATC interact with the mouse?
What I'm thinking of is turn the Radar Contact commands (1 to request RWY, 7 to acknowledge ...) into click-spots.
That would make things much more easy instead of searching for the right button on the keyboard or the controller.
Maybe I'm just dreaming.
someone probably can figure that out, but, there are a couple of buttons on the controllers that might be easier to press than trying to find the mouse and then looking for a spot to click. I take it you are thinking VR?
Hi Sylvain,
Using the mouse to interact with ATC might be possible as a future enhancement. Thanks for the feedback.

Karl

Thank you, that would be great !

Hello Ray,
All the buttons on my yoke are already assigned. I'm flying a 2D screen. I like to click on switches in the cockpit, also tuning the radios and VOR's manually, so my mouse is never out of sight.
I use Saitek Pro flight stick and 3 large Saitek panels - Radio, Multi, and Switch. I. have the Ack button as a Thumb press on the flight stick and the 0 Ack and Exe button press on the throttle. I never have to let go of either during as flight. It is about as close as possible to Press to Talk buttons. All 2d.
Got past the Radar Contact msstdfmt.dll error by registering the file using a command prompt window with admin privileges ...
I then used Little Navmap to create a simple flightplan "FROM KADS TO KCLL" and SAVED it as a PLN file. And finally I opened Radar Contact and loaded my new *.pln file and clicked the RUN / Start RC button. When I jumped in FS2 and went to KADS, I heard voices
I think these final steps and an example FS2 flight plan (*.pln) should be included at the end of the Quick Start Guide to help new users hear their first voices and to confirm they successfully cleared all those installation challenges.
Hello Karl , what is the best and easiest Flight Planner to use with Aerofly FS2 and Radar contact as i gather that a plan has to be created outside first ? I have been used to doing this inside FSX but AFS2 is only a basic planner that won't work with RC4 ? Thanks Mate !

For me simbrief works the best!
