Yes there was an update. A small one 11GB
And then a larger one about 50Gb

I only had the 11GB update and then I choose to download the free downloadable content (DLC) high resolution texture pack for Southwestern USA. So now my Aerofly is 84.5GB in size in Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator

Thank you all. Do we need to install both?, is only one now available? The initial update came only a few days after the FS 2 release and it was automatic. Does anyone understand the automatic/manual position?

Automatic Game Update without Official Announcement?
Steam update taking 1 hour, updated content not declared.
(no idea what exactly has been updated)IPACS must communicate please.

So is the 50 GB Update the one with the new textures? But what was the 11 GB update then?
Und Jan, kann man mit dir irgendwie Kontakt nochmal aufnehmen? Müsste dich mal was zu deinem Studium fragen.

The 11GB download that Steam automatically starts is an update on the current default textures. Those replace old files and don't increase the app size.
The larger 50GB package is an optional free add-on that increases the terrain texture resolution in the current flying region. Such downloadable add-ons are called downloadable content (DLC) on Steam. You don't need it to run Aerofly FS 2 but it certainly makes a big difference if you fly away from the airports.Cheers,
JanP.S: Paul you can contact me via mail, you can find it on my personal website in the impress (Impressum)

Thank you Jan.

upgrade from 54 gb ???? , It's the full game that weighs 54 gb, the first dlc weighs 11 gb and only includes the south america in HD, and now releasing europe it passes the time.

No, thats not correct... (How is that so hard to understand:confused:)
11GB update that just refreshes some textures
55GB optional DLC that significantly increases texture resolution away from airports. These 55Gb should not be called an "update" because it doesn't change any simulator code, its an add-on or even more precise "DLC" (downloadable content, the ..able at the end indicating that you can download it, but you don't have to... :D)
Full defaul sim was and still is around 30GB.
If you install the high resolution on top of that that makes 85GB. -
is it auto-install, or do i need to download and then execute from download?
I downloaded something, took 1 hour, but where is it? -

When you find the DLC in Steam you just have to press "Install" I think. Then it automatically downloads and installes it.

I loaded the DLC graphics upgrade and my PC cannot run Aero now with all the graphics settings on 'ultra'. Which graphics settings would you sacrifice for smooth running? I have set Terrain image quality and Shadow quality to 'high'. I am unsure about leaving Texture quality or Terrain image quality on 'ultra'.

How do I download the optional 55GB DLC?
Thanks!

Open up Steam and browse in your library for the Aerofly FS 2. On the right column under "LINKS" click the "DLC" entry.
Add all DLC to Cart I think and then it should start download it. I needed to restart Steam after I clicked that button and then it just started downloading it. -
Thanks for that Jet-Pack.. much appreciated!
I already have the HD Airports texture pack. I thought there was another larger download for areas outside airports
