GeoConvert won’t load .tiff files

  • Puh... not exactly what I have. I have the Problem, that Geoconverter can convert my bmp source files to ttc. It produce even _mask files (From where he think he can take the information I don't know, the size is always 1 kb. Also not all ttc files have a corresponding mask file…)

If I put the masks in the alpha channel and save the tif (I can see the working alpha channel in a viewer) and I change the file format in the .inf file to .tif, the geoconverter ist doing something but does not write any ttc and mask ttc files. There is no output.

I thought it is, because Paint Shop Pro X7 does not write the correct tif format. So I install gimp and export the tif in a format recommended in the IPACS tutorial. Starting up geoconverter again: Result: no files.

I tried both: 1 Bit Alpha Channel and 8 bit Alpha Channel.

    Any Idea?

    and so on ….

    Wish for Aerofly FS 2/4:

    - Flightpath recording on hard drive and replay in sim from different view points

    - Smoke for aerobatic planes

    - Multiplayer or at least watching other people flying sitting on ground or inside tower

  • I cannot reply for tif, I always work with 24 bit BMPs. If I need a self-made mask, I define it as such in a separate image.

Here, an example where I have an orthophoto and made a blending mask.

The associated AID file looks like this

Note : this works in addition to AFS2-generated masks.

    Cheers

  • Thank you, it's working. :)

Is this also working for reflection and night masks?

  • I'd assume no, but trial and error is the main rule, that's how I found this undocumented trick...

    Cheers
