Back in the days when I build the Wettergerät I found out how the slider works:
Setting the wind strength to 1 yields a wind speed of ~16 knots;
...with "1" meaning 100%. If you want more control over your wind speed (e.g. set winds with more than 16kts) you will need to modify the "main.mcf", which is what the Wettergerät does.
But actually it would be nice to have this built into AFS4 / AFSG. 
The wind speed also changes with height. On the ground it's less than high in the air where there is no ground friction.
Due to the Coriolis force, wind not only changes speed, but also direction, especially at low altitude.
Already addressed that a year ago or so. Hopefully we will get more advanced weather settings, soon. Live weather would be the next step after that.

I would love this to be different, or maybe even have more settings when it comes to wind, like a wind shear option. I love to practice challenging landings, but even on the highest wind settings we have available now, landings are fairly easy as the turbulences are extremely weak on ground level.
