Are there any near plans on making the globe high res aerial image like some parts of Europe and the U.S?
High resolution aerial image

Unfortunately higher resolution aerial images are not affordable for the entire planet. Even at "just" 1 Euro per square km we that would be 510,072,000 Euros. We would need to sell half a billion copies if we wanted to afford that. We are luckly that we found data that fits our usage conditions for Europe and the US. But we will keep looking for more countries around the world so that we can provide high res images in as many places as possible. But we are no Google or Microsoft which already have access to this data, essentially for free.

Wow! I did not know that high res images could be that expensive.

That's why I find it so valuable that there are members in our community who create high-resolution images.

Isn't it a website like openstreetmap that is free or Leaflet or something like that? Jet-Pack (IPACS)

Free does not mean we are allowed to redistribute it and make money from it.

Same with open source. Usage conditions of a free or open product may include that the redistribution is only allowed if it is free as well and follows the same open license. Welcome to the copyright nightmares.
