Tool which simplifies the usage of the GeoConvert tool

GeoConvert Helper doesn't touch any files apart from the bmp and inf files.

At the moment it will copy all files matching the file masks "Area_L*.bmp" and "AreaFSInfo*.inf". As it will not delete any tif files in the destination directory copying the tif files before pressing Start should work.

If it helps i can add a function that copies also tif files matching the file mask "Area_L*.tif from the source to the destination directory.

You just got me before I deleted that sentence my mistke

For me you do not have to change anything now I know how to handle my tifs.

But maybe you can include it for other newbies.

Would you be able to add tif files to the tool.When I edit bmp in gimp and save as tif they won't convert.Thanks for the Geoconvert tool,it saves a lot of time.

Yes but consider also that there will be people with double images then, there original bmp alongside the tif.....

Hi together,

Have a big problem with GeoConvert Helper!

Downloaded 662 files (in 24 hours :-)) for South Germany.

Started GeoConvert Helper (1.03) and the bitmaps are made.

BUT when "CMD" Console opens, the 32 GB !!! RAM filling up to 100% and GeoConvert crashes with "Not enough memory available!

Please help !!!

Hi again,

Sorry found out what fills up RAM > Aerofly FS2 GeoConvert Version 1.2.5 !!!

NOT GeoConvert Helper!

Tried to make a test with limited CPU cores (8 of 12) > now crashes at "Percentage completed: 11,111%"!

RAM shows 99% but FS2 GeoConvert goes down to about 250 MB before crash !?

NO other task who fills up the RAM to 99%!

Seems that FS2 GeoConvert does not clean up RAM while running !!??

At first run it crashes at 3,888 %!

See attached picture for details please.

Hello Ralf,

the GeoConvert tool is known to require a lot of memory. Maybe increasing the size of your page file will reduce the problems:

Create page file to prevent crash during geoconverting!

About the tif thing; Now I had only an airport with only tif files, no bmp, GeoConverter helper thinks there is nothing there...

I solved it by quickly moving a bmp file around

But I don't think that will be a problem after your next update.

You're right. At the moment the tool performs a plausibility check of the source folder by looking only for bmp files. I will add tif files as well.

THANKS A LOT !

Link to "Create page file..." solved my problem too!

Made a second "windows controlled" page file (swap file" on an other SSD.

Reboot > and GeoConverter finished without problems!

Usage of RAM and swap file are massiv.

After 32 GB RAM was filled up to 99% both swap files grow up to 104 GB !!!

Result of the new scenery >>>> GREAT!

Have installed south west Germany overlapping switzerland DLC in the Bodensee area and i think DLC is much brighter and looks not so really against new scenery.

has anyone found a way to do 300 gb- i spent 3 days downloading to see if it would work- made it half way- then helper stop responding- did it again can get past 1 percent now- tried adding page ram- didnt work

Something is wrong with the memory management of the GeoConverter, IPACS is working on a solution.

First time I hear of problems with the Helper, maybe check your files, empty folders etc.
