What are the specs of the PC you are using for geoconvert?
What is the size of the area that you are trying to make?
How many levels did you set up in the TSC file?
And finally, have you followed the steps listed in the tutorials on our wiki?
well i just had a blackout and lost all power, i will give it a try some other day when i feel bothered again.
pc specs
B150 mobo
750W Gold PSU
16gig DDR 4 RAM
windows 10 Home
Intel Quad Core i7 6700K 4.2GHz 8GB 1TB GTX 1070 8GB
yes i followed the steps in the tutorial the size was not very big but next time i will record all these details.
Hi,
if you have these parameters in your TMC, the folder \images_raw has to exist in the scenery folder.
This is a setting for advanced users to create additional png files. Then you can check the content of your new images.
Please make sure, your geoconvert subdirectories look like this:
Rodeo
i just have scenery then images no other folder called images_raw
So just create the new folder with exactly this name
I had the same problem. Geoconvert helper assumes images_raw hut geoconvert sdk download doesn't create it. Hopefully the next v. of the helper will fix this problem.
ok thanks
Are there any advantages to using the geoconvert , 'manually' vs the geoconvert helper tool.
No,
it's just your personal preference.

Thanks.

Please just understand that the geoconvert helper is an application made by a user and not by IPACS therefore if something goes wrong with your process you should always try the process manually before stating that there are problems.

For sure.
I might just have to learn to do it manually since I have only ever done it with the app.
woo hoo !
I did it, got my scnery into AF2 passed my house and i love how pressing the L key shows the main suburbs so you know where you are, although the textures close to the ground around 1000 feet are abit blurry I suppose i need to make it from 0 to -1 in the fset tool?
next i need to learn how to make runways / airports etc.

If you have a powerful PC you can set FSET to -1 and convert to level 15. This will give you very sharp imagery even flying low.
ok thanks Jeff
do i need to also set to the other numbers like 9,10,12 etc or just 15?
Yes you will need to do more levels.
I normally do 10,11,12,13,14,and 15
Keep in mind that you will need more HD space and it may take a while to convert do to the added levels.
ok thanks Jeff, having fun with this, building your own scenery, got the runways working as well, next is buildings but first i want to do all the scenery next to my location.
I'm glad that you are enjoying yourself. That's the most important part.
There will be much more coming your way soon.
