After all this time I have decided to learn to fly the Aerofly FS2 F-15E. It appears the F-15E is near the bottom of the list for updates and enhancements. Could someone that is familiar with this one in this flight sim post some info about it. I find absolutely nothing in the wiki, nada, zilch, zip, nil. Not to worry, I'm sure someone has a few notes on the limitations, speeds, cautions, etc.
Because we can't vary the takeoff or landing weights, and we can't change the fuel or weapons and external stores, these speeds should be pretty easy to remember. I suppose I could spend the evening trying to translate the data in the aircraft files to knots and pounds, but I haven't had much luck doing that with other planes. Maybe Jan will step in and impress us with his specialist knowledge.
Will the current model follow a flight plan created using the NAV page? Will it hold a specific heading and/or altitude? Can I fly an ILS approach? Are any of the buttons and knobs activated yet? Do the flaps actually go from zero to full flaps with no intermediate setting?
How about specific speeds like, VR, max flaps and gear operating speeds, best approach and touchdown speeds?
I fully realize that we can consider ourselves lucky to even have an F-15E in our inventory at this early stage of sim development so I am obviously willing to take anything I can get. Can someone narrow down the options listed, engines for instance, maybe max takeoff weight, fuel capacity, in the general specs to our AFS2 model?
Is anything selectable in the UFC (Up Front Control) panel? The upper middle panel with the keypad below looks like something should be selectable and useable. I do recognize the HDG and CRS buttons on the right MFD.
Without an operational weapon system, I would expect most of this stuff will not be useful at this stage of development, but who knows?
Regards,
Ray
