Aerofly FS4 SDK

  • I have still not seen any discussion on the SDK capabilities in the new Aerofly FS4. Will there be a similar SDK as in the current FS2? Will it offer more functionality, e.g., will it be possible to set weather parameters such as clouds? Also, will it be possible to create custom mission via the SDK?

The Aerofly FS 4 SDK will include the same tools as for Aerofly FS 2.

For the custom missions there is a text-file that can be edited from the outside but this file is located in the core folders and thus can be overridden by an update at any time and wipe any user made changes. If you have creative custom mission ideas feel free to post them here in the developer section of the forums. If there is great demand we could also add a user folder directory for user made custom missions.

Jet-Pack (IPACS) The folder for user specific custom missions sound like a really great idea. Concerning the missions, will it be possible to e.g. define a hems rescue scenario for helicopter (EC135), with an accident scene, hospital etc? I am currently developing a custom service, which is able to generate authentic hems mission based on real-life data, and it would be great if this data could be used for the missions.

  • Aeroflight FS4 . After several trials and changes in the UTC window , yesterday evening , the time became correct after a change .

By the way , I have problems with TRIMs . Quite impossible to make stabilization .

Why on the track , ready to fly , I have a Trim 18 % UP and level at five on the left picture ?

The aircraft's documentation will determine the default trim for takeoff when you are on the runway. If you HAVE an assist such as AUTO TRIM on, the plane's trim will adjust to the proper position as you fly, and you can check if you HAVE it on. Of course, the fly-by-wire aircraft itself has automatic trim and cannot be turned off directly. :)

Jet-Pack (IPACS) What is the best way to store community-build missions? Has the user folder for custom missions been implemented? Or should we wait?

Just asking, because I am planning on building the Arctic Circle Rallye. ;)

  • Well you can already add your own missions the only issue is sharing it with others is not so easy... Users basically would have to copy-paste your text into the missions file. But if we see great demand we may discuss an easier solution than that.

Yes, or It would be quite easy to make a small tool that would append to the current missions file. Would it be possible to indicate the mission route on the VR tablet?

  • A mission already sets the normal route in the navigation menu, so if you see that on the tablet then you already have the mission route as well.

Thanks for the response, I will need to check that out. I might have missed it, but is it possible to turn of the guidance rectangles and only rely on the VR map?

  • Jet-Pack (IPACS) Is there a tool for converting flightplans (e.g. from the main.mcf) to mission checkpoints? I noticed that in the custom_missions.tmc in every mission there is a disabled block with a a standard main.mcf-flightplan, as well as the regular mission-checkpoints matching the flightplan.

Otherwise we would have to build a tool which converts the current setting in the main.mcf to mission data...
