Very nice compilation, Donka. I was waiting for you to do some loops and rolls around the Golden Gate!

Thank you sir. No real aerobatics this time round but I'll maybe come up with something soon.

Nice landing Nik, especially with a tailwind. What is next? Have you tried the northerly terminal roof in Zurich? Not too hard in a Cessna, must try it in a Baron or King Air! !!!
How do you record video?, I dont know if a modest android phone like my Samsung S5 would have the performance to match your recordings. I tried videoing playback but got fierce Murray/Moire fringing. -
Yeah, I can land on the roof of the skyscrapers in the same clip, but that's a little harder.
Tried landing inside Candlestick park too, but I haven't quite managed that one yet.Re recording, did that video on my Note 4 using this... https://play.google.com/store/apps/det…enrecorder.free
It's a free to use, recording app, which if you have Lollipop, works root free. Should work for an S5.
I'll give the terminal roof a try, thanks for the tip.
We could start a STOL club. -
C172 skyscraper rooftop landing.

This might not be 100% authentic Nik, with full flaps the angle of incidence between the trailing edge and the furthest point on the leading edge has to be at least 10 degrees higher than the displayed HUD attitude mark. The difference between the attitude mark and the flight path vector mark is over 25 degrees approaching the roof edge. With 35+ degrees actual angle of attack at 42kt indicated, the zoom up to clear the lip of the building might not work in a real Cessna. The propwash would help the inner wing flow a little bit but they do tend to drop a wing, no they really do drop a wing! Did you use auto rudder?
Good fun Nik, I did this in FSX or FS2004 in the New York scenery in a Cessna. I think the helicopters sink through the roof of the FSX former PanAm building. Oh when will we get the lovely Robinson R22 shown in Aerofly facebook?
-
Yeah - I wasn't really thinking authentic, it was more about the challenge.
Rudder was manual, you have to put the plane into a slide as soon as you touch down. Normal braking isn't strong enough here.I've had a couple of attempts at landing inside Candlestick Stadium too, but not managed this one yet.

That is a tight fit! But the 41 kt final speed (?) and the intentional ground loop kept you on the roof. For a more authentic experience maybe you should use K's Piper cub, which floats like a butterfly?
Use the Corsair to land on the Golden Gate!

No piper cub in Aerofly Mobile unfortunately.
Got one in Xplane 10 though. -

Nice one Overloaded!
I'm going to have to have another go at that one now.Did you get out again? Otherwise it doesn't count. (joking)

Hi Nik, tried that stadium in the iPad version using your HUD method.
Throttle closed and about to drop having just cleared the lip of the stadium:p.
Must try video sometime.Very nice! And a video would be great...
-
I must admit, I didn't even realise there was a stadium until I saw these posts. Pretty cool.

Hi all. First I've been trying to upload this post earlier, but it has been impossible. If I see this doubled, I delete. ;.) Thanks for the videos as they are wonderful and very educational. I've been doing several videos. Here you have a sample. I hope you like.

I would appreciate your advice to improve the channel, and thus further promote the simulator !! Thanks -
Excellent video Benjamin, the link to youtube is much clearer than the direct video in the FB Aerofly group. You have a lower pitch attitude than I get, what flap setting were you on? I find that Airbus flap scale hard to read. I noticed that you were on 155 to 150 Kt on finals, that would pitch the nose down a bit for a given rate of descent? Super video.
-
I used full flaps and VS 700, approximately. When not using the HUD view, sometimes "I lose" some aircraft attitude by constantly looking at the runway. I think if the runway had been Papis would have been easier..

Resurrecting an older thread in anticipation of any updates. Can't believe this video was done over a year ago!

Sometimes some frustrated users forget how good mobile Aero is, this video shows it at its best. Hopefully ths section of the forum takes off again in the near future.
