Any news from Aero-Expo, IPACS, VRMotion, Aerofly FS2 and the R-22 today?

  • You're right Ray, I am waiting, too.

As a by-product, wouldn't a chopper require plane-specific controller profiles? I can't imagine to use the same controller settings for a chopper as for an A320 as for an...

Currently I have a couple of profiles which I switch by copying over, but this technique reminds me on early DOS days.:)

    Kind regards, Michael

  • Michael,

I bought a book - Learning ti Fly Helicopters by R. Randall Padfield. The 2nd edition seems to be up-to-date. There are not many books with good reviews or recommendations.

The only thing I am going to do differently is reverse the throttle direction so I pull up for the collector.

The early days of FSX had a very good simulator tutorial for flying helicopters (Just text). It is still available with a good search.

  • Can you give a link or a name for this tutorial? Thanks!

This kind of relates to one of my suggestions for improvement -- the ability to save/load controller profiles. But IPACS questioned the need, so not sure it's on their To-Do list.

  • Haha, and I don't think this is rocket science to implement.

  • Just some impressions from the Aero today.

The booth of Brunner-VRmotion-IPACS was always crowded during the hours I have been there.

Unfortunately I missed to take a foto of Jet-Pack :(. I'm really sorry Jan!
