Hi, maybe this has been asked before, or it's a siily question, but is there a way to allow AFS2 to show the current FPS onscreen?.
Thanks in advance, Ed

Hi,

How can I do it in VR?
Is there also a keyboard shortcut?
Thanks in advance, Jakob.
You will have to take your headset off to see FPS readout in VR

Use your stick/yoke software to map a button to generate Ctrl F1.
Thanks a lot to Jeff and Phil!
That means for me, currently no Fps display in VR is possible. Not yet

Not quite true.... If you have the oculus tray tool, it can tell you all sorts of interesting things about what is happening in the sim, in real time.
Aha, ok! I will download and try the oculus tray tool.
Thank you HiFlyer!
CTRL + F1 n'affiche pas les FPS
Viewing the frame rate would be useful. But the suggestions here and in the instruction manual don't seem to work for Mac OS Catalina. They seem to be for Windows.
Am I missing something? Or is there a way of doing this in Mac OS?

Yes, you can change a value in main.mfc - at your own risk:

This option should be listed in the controller setup.
Thanks but too frightening for me to try - even if I knew how to find main.mfc!
Sad that Mac users haven't so far received all that Windows users have.
But the main.mfc is not that critical, IPACS itself has written something about it in the Wiki: https://www.aerofly.com/dokuwiki/doku.php/simulator:mcf
You can't really break anything in main.mfc, because in case of an emergency you simply delete it and restart the FS. This will automatically reboot main.mfc - now just use the default settings.
In addition, the basic rule always applies: always create a backup copy before every change.
The only drawback I see as a Mac user is that I can't use the add-ons in EXE - but I don't think that's so bad. Everything else is comparable for Mac and Windows from my point of view and fits.

All of our versions share the same core code. We only refine the code for each particular platform.
Fortunately for people like me who are frightened of messing with the internal workings of programs, the Frames per Second can be displayed on a Mac by pressing CMND +F1 rather than CTRL as the instructions advise. This displays a lot of information at the bottom of the screen, including fps.
