It appears that the page that it's direct to was changed. We will link it to another page in an update.
I'm not a VR pilot, so I'm interesting in Tobii Eye Tracker 4C. I think, FS2 supports Tobii EyeX, but doesn't supports Tobii Eye Tracker 4C, right?.
How good works this device for FS2 and has it a future? Will IPACS supports Tobii Eye Tracker 4C too?
Regards,
Gert
Gert, thank you for informing us. We informed Tobii of the broken link.
The Eye Tracker 4C is fully supported and will get a better update within the next 1-2 weeks with improved view control.
Hi, I' using since 6 months the Tobii eye tracker 4c and it is fantastic ! The only secret is to set correctly the sensitivity, and it is aboslutely great !
I can recommand it !
Great! Thank you. I will buy and test it.
you won't regret it, for sure ! I'm not readyfor VR, I mean my computer is (i7 7700K, 16GB, ALL SSD, Nvidia 1080GTX), but I'm very happy with my big screen and Tobii Eye Tracker 4C.
This is new to me, how does it compare to Track IR and does it need a higher spec PC?
You don’t have anything around your head, it’s just a small bar just under your screen. You define precisely the recognition of your eyes movements, it works magically! If you want, it can recognize your head’s movemens too (but). I don’t have any experience with another computer than mine, which is rather high end. BR
I am using the Tracker 4C as well since a few months now. Works fine with aerofly but I am waiting for an improvement update. The sensitivity is a bit to high for me.
One more thing: an option to deactivate it for external views (cockpit only) would be fantastic.
In Aerofly fs2, in my system, tobii eyes tracker 4c does not function in external views: only in cockpit views, so I’m very happy.it is very strange that in yours external views are concerned !
We have updated the Tobii Tracker support in Aerofly to now support eye movement as well as head movement for look around.
Anybody with a Tracker 4C, please have a look at this new implementation and let us know what you think.
As a optional feature one can enable head position tracking as well.
Thanks for your update. The movement ist much better now. More smooth and rotation angle limit
But now my captains place is behind the seat and I cannot move at the seat. Right now I cannot fly as a captain with head position tracking. I am stuck behind the seat. Move buttons are configured but movement forward does not work / does not move forward enough.
autopilot and other buttons are much better to use. Less "shaking". How about a deadzone option?
Could something similar work on the tablets which always seem to have built in webcams? There is a sort of open source PC program that tries to imitate track IR using a webcam.
I presume the mobile work is not in its final stages?
We have a reset key in case your head position is not ok. By default its the SPACE key. Press it, whenever you need to reset your position.
We will evaluate the possibility of adding a dead zone parameter.
The latest update introduces a dead zone parameter. We like to use Tobii Eye Tracker without a dead zone, but experiment with it.
Okay guys, you are 100% awesome!
1. View reset with space key was the solution.
And
The neutral zone option is perfect! Over 50% of it makes no sense. But I am using it with 15-20% neutral zone and now it fits for me like never before. Less shaky and less tense movement. I am able to click the cockpit buttons without any difficulty and can keep the front view better for approaches.
Many thanks for that and the super swift response.
Any questions? More testing will follow. Please do not remove this option.
Well done!
A happy customer
How this device work with people that use glasses?. Sorry for the silly question.
Cheers, Ed
I don’t wear glasses. I cannot report about good or bad. But Tobii is a very professional company with industrial solutions. I guess it should work as long as the tracker can recognise your eyes. A wide spectacle frame or reflective glass could cause issues.
Thanks, very informative!.
