Have you zoomed in?

I have the same LOD issue for adjoining scenery. I FSET and geoconverted a strip form the IPACS CH DLC to the ORBX LOWI
This is an example of an unusual loading effect at the eastern edge of the CH coverage. My new scenery does not overlay the default (level 8?) until you are almost directly overhead. Example screen shots below.
Phil,
I reconverted the area with masks on for all levels that has pretty much fixed the issue. The scenery does load farther out as it did, just a larger area so it’s not as noticeable.
is there a box i tick somewhere to put masks on?
At the end of the level line in the .tmc file it’s set true for level 9, the rest are false, change them all to true, then masks will be created for each level. I’ll try to post my .tmc file tomorrow.
ok so i change all the above to true before i run the geoconverter tool ?
Here's the TMC file for geo converter. The scenery still loads as you fly closer, but does it as a bigger area
You may need to to the levels in between, too... i.d.k.
Clayton4115, yes that will create masks for all levels.
Jet-Pack, I will add level 10 to see if that works
I just upgraded my TMC generator to allow you to enable masks on any particular level.

We do really need a better wiki though. I had to enable masks to get my coastline to appear, but there are some FAQ type things I could use definitive advice on:
Answers here are great, but really it would be nice to have them in a definitive location. Hmm - I'll add them to my above web page if I get them.
I'm not too sure what you are asking here?
I update the wiki with all valid information that we clear as proper information internally.
You appear to have questions only pertaining to a specific problem that you are having. With this you should post questions on the forum.
So do I need to re-create all my converted files, or can I just use the generator to create a new TMC file for the ones I have?
Does this solve the popping up of scenery tiles?
Thanks!
Andrew

Am I in the right place? https://www.aerofly.com/aerofly_fs_2/d…enery_creation4
I don't see any lines in the TMC which set masks true or false

I think the TMC is just a script telling Geoconvert what to do, so if the TMC changes Geoconvert needs to be run again. I think. As for whether it will solve the popping up issue, it is my recollection (from a couple of months ago) that setting masks true solved my popping up problem as well as allowing my coastline to appear.
Jeff says this is all in the Wiki but I'm struggling to find it.
Yes, if you change the TMC file, geo convert needs to been run again. I converted levels 9,10,11,12 with masks on. Still pops in distance, just a larger area

How far out in the distance is it popping in? How large of an area pops in at once? Just trying to see if it worth re-doing about 90GB of tiles.
Andrew
Andrew,
I’m not sure how large the area is that pops up, maybe 10nm. before when I geo converted without masks, it was small area, maybe a few tiles, at a time as I fly closer. I’ve decided since there isn’t a fix for scenery popping in the distance, I will probably just live with it. You might try doing a smaller area as a test. I convert 60nm x 135nm, still takes a long time to convert.
This may seem like a daft work-around, but it helps sometimes!.. I reduce visibility, put the popping tiles into the mist, and fly at around 3,000ft AGL. Won't help much in the airliners, but OK in the GA machines.

OK, before I re-do all my scenery, I want to make sure I have this strait.
Running FSET, I set "Masks" to yes, correct?
Then can I run the results through Geoconvert as I have in the past with the TMC file from FSET, or do I use Spit40's web page http://ndgrad.co.uk/fs2/fset2tmc/, and run inf2tfwconverter, add the data from it to the TMC and then run GeoConvert? I have not done it that way, just used GeoConvert. I want to make sure I have it correct, so as not do something wrong and loose hours of down load time. LOL

Andrew, set 'Masks' to NO in FSET.
I'm not too sure why you are using masks here, Aerofly reads the imagery files without masks.
The only changes that you should be making with the image tiles would be to add alpha to make those areas transparent, mainly for water areas that there is no images or for blending into the Aerofly base scenery.
Please follow the tutorial on the wiki for this as it explains it clearly.
