Thanks for making this. Truly great and much appreciated.
Tool which simplifies the usage of the GeoConvert tool

so the helper crashes when copying bmp files....any ideas
-
I usually convert small to medium areas (no more than 20 area-counts in FSET, but mainly between 2 and 10 area-counts). When I use the helper I've found crashes during the process of copying the resulting images (bmp files) to the geoconvert working folder and also during the conversion itself. As a result, I've decided not to use the helper when converting areas bigger than 9 area-counts. That worked well with me.

Follow the wiki for the Geoconvert Tool released by IPACS in the wiki section. The actions have to be performed manually. You don't really need the helper, it only make things easier (a lot).

Ok. I can run it manually from the geoconvert folder inside the SDK.

If you click the tab for Advanced TMC File Settings and go back to the Detail Level tab, the start button will be normal again. You won't have to do anything inside the Advanced tab, by the way. A workaround!.

Thanks.

Thank you Ed, for showing up the workaround. The bug will be fixed in the next version.

@admoore63 (Uwe),
I wondered if you could also support the USGS tiles instead of those from FSET. I guess the issue is that we have to download a lot of smallish tiles but I don't as yet know what files (like the .inf and .txt files for FSET) provide the NW-SE corners and number of pixels. Those who are downloading USGS will be able to tell us. It would be great if your Helper program could deal with them as well. I wonder if it might be better to add them together to be a larger image first?
See the Hawaii thread :
Thanks

Hi Dave,
at the moment i am concentrating on a snapping function to avoid mask bitmaps, when processing adjacent areas.
After that is completed i will try to implement support for USGS tiles. So, it is just a matter of time

Excellent. Good news indeed.

Uwe,
Thanks very much - you are way ahead of us! The "snapping" to the next tile at a given level - and therefore removing mask tiles is a great help. Is there someway you could also tell us how much more BMP/TIF coverage (the wider NW-SE corners) (at that level) we would need to get our desired NW-SE corners. Right now we really have to guess and look at the PNGs to see if there is black. It sounds like you have figured out how to calculate the tile edges - WOW!
Thanks again - it's always nice to have a smart guy who can code on our team!

Thanks in advance, Uwe. Converting from USGS is by far a tedious task if you do it manually, even following the excellent tutorial posted here before.
