OAHU for AFS2 in development - Share our excitement!

The point isn't if people play older games or if Microsoft has the resources to get the refined detail. AOB stated that with the present level of delay that this version of Hawaii will be irrelevant when FS 2020 arrives. He's got the honesty to state what many of us elude to, that the continual delay with IPACS and with the scenery developers lead many of us to believe that we won't see any further improvements or significant updates before we're all flying in FS2020. I love the shots of Hawaii, but that's all we seem to see. And IPACS is investing their time in the mobile version and hasn't had the resources to dedicate to Aeorfly2 per their newsletter. It just feels like they have moved on to more opportunity and left us here.
I absolutely LOVE the VR experience in Aerofly and won't fly X PLane due to the inferiority, but the lonely sterile planet and lack of updates leaves me yearning for FS 2020 in the hopes that someone is still developing for those of us searching for perfection.

All valid points but....Ever heard of the term 'off topic'...?
This thread is about a team (not IPACS) of developers creating a scenery in their free time that possibly will surpass every scenery including payware so far.
Not the place for complaints over IPACS development in my opinion.

How much detail can you expect on Kaui?
Though this is not our main scenery island, you also can expect details
i.e. these holliday homes.
Edit: We use all kinds of models, selfmade from scratch, modified based on Warehouses (like these ones), library objects and XREF objects.
Most of them get an individual night texture.
These also work in the night....

Schick! Sind das eigene Modelle?
Fancy! Are they your own models?

One of the perks of working on the scenery is you get to fly around and just check on things. Looking for something that might not be quite right or maybe could or should be improved. Today I dropped in at our newest little hideaway grass strip and who was standing there next to a helicopter that I haven't seen in AFS2 before - Yep, sure 'nough, it is Magnum PI in his not-to-be-missed black Hughes 500 with those two bold Yellow and Red stripes. hmm.

looks fantastic jetjockey, is there a release date where we can expect this great scenery ? its so hard too wait
thanks

I hope there's Magnums red Ferrari driving around somewhere.

We'll have to shift the release again...

We are working on the back office work needed for release of Kauai and Niihau Islands. Getting the documentation, credits, best balance of file sizes and overall ease of installation and all the other items on the checklist properly arranged and aligned is our priority. One day very soon.
We all want to get this scenery uploaded just as bad as you guys and girls want to download it. -
Sounds good...End of the month would be great.
But I have no problems waiting for something good.
Just a bit worried with only 3GB of VRAM, might need to upgrade soon....

No worries, we will have various preselected configurations so everyone can enjoy the scenery. Starting with the most basic PC setup with low memory and old video cards up to the hottest blazing super duper ones that need to be chained to the desk to keep them from flying away. Most of us are someone near the middle.
The team occasionally makes performance tests starting at a given place and we fly over or near a POI and we all compare the FPS to help gauge the effects of areas with concentrated add ons. You can always fly out over the water and fly around the islands with your FPS pegged out on the high end.
You will also be able to easily turn on or turn off certain animations that tend to drag down the performance.

Wait... we're getting a drivable FERRARI?!!
Not just yet, but, you could paint the Veyron red while you wait.

And the 2 dogs and HIGGINS ( from who I get my name
) )

I went out to see if I could fly formation with the Icon A5 and ended up over at Kaneohe just marveling at the number of new static planes we will be able to introduce to AFS2. I am going to post some of the images so you will have something to look at while we work to get the 1st installment out the door.
here are some large area shots of Kaneohe air base and Kaneohe Bay.
